Los Angeles Football Club secured a 4-1 victory over Real Salt Lake on September 21 at BMO Stadium in a commanding second-half performance.

Real Salt Lake took an early lead in the 14th minute when Brayan Vera scored from outside the box, assisted by Noel Caliskan with Alexandros Katranis providing the second assist. LAFC responded with two quick goals before halftime, as Denis Bouanga equalized in the 45+1' with a strike from the left side of the box, assisted by Heung-Min Son. Son then gave LAFC the lead in the 45+3' with a left-footed effort from outside the box, assisted by David Martínez.

The hosts extended their advantage in the 73rd minute when Bouanga completed his brace with a finish from the center of the box, assisted by Andrew Moran with Son providing the second assist. Bouanga sealed his hat-trick in the 87th minute, converting from the center of the box with assistance from Jeremy Ebobisse.

Hugo Lloris made 3 saves for LAFC, while Rafael Cabral recorded 6 saves for Real Salt Lake. Timothy Tillman and DeAndre Yedlin both received yellow cards during the match.
